Middle Division Curriculum

The curriculum in the Middle Division of Shorecrest Preparatory School is designed to meet the needs of young adolescents in grades five through eight. Students begin each day with the morning meeting. Each student has a home base teacher and reports to home base for fifteen minutes at the start and the end of each day. There are seven fifty-minute periods throughout the day, along with a fifteen minute break and a thirty minute lunch. The academic classes are mathematics, social studies, science, language arts (fifth and sixth), English (seventh and eighth), literature (fifth and sixth), and foreign language. Students also have a daily class in P.E./health, and arts.
