Join CITL for a collaborative, interactive, virtual 2-day workshop in which you will explore how to maintain your identity during brave conversations, how to understand your “why”, and how to harness the power of listening and dialogue.

Some of the topics covered will include:
  • reimagining what respect for others is
  • conversation styles and purposes
  • the power of listening, microaggressions, and other dialogue inhibitors
You will leave with practical strategies such as using the fishbowl to foster authentic discussions, methods to manage your thoughts and emotions in critical conversations, and tools for respectful responding.

Meet Your Instructor

Khana Rebman '05, a Shorecrest graduate, joined their teaching team in 2016 from Pinellas County schools, where she had been teaching second, third, fourth and fifth grades. She served as a demonstration teacher for the County, allowing teachers from different schools to observe the implementation of educational best practices. She was also a model teacher for the Marzano model of teaching and evaluation. In 2015, Ms. Rebman was awarded Teacher of the Year at Gulfport Elementary as well as Teacher of the Month by the Nancy Cavey Law Office. She served as a mentor, tutor and after school program leader. And she is married to a school Principal!

Today, Rebman teaches third grade and is the Diversity Coordinator for Shorecrest's Lower School.

Ms. Rebman earned her bachelor's degree in Human Development from Connecticut College and her master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Hampshire. She is a sister of the sorority Delta Xi Phi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.
