For Teachers of PreK - Third Grade

Miriam Pardoll has 25 years experience working in public and private schools in Massachusetts and Florida. She has worked as a classroom teacher and learning specialist in addition to developing a learning center. Mrs. Pardoll also teaches other educators through professional development and has taught college students at St. Petersburg College. She is a certified Dyslexia Therapist and a ADHD Professional. Mrs. Pardoll fosters a team approach with teachers, parents, specialists, administrators, and students to ensure student progress and success. Mrs. Pardoll is passionate about making sure diverse learners reach their potential and wants all students to be fully included, feel empowered, and be proud of their accomplishments no matter where they attend school.

Miriam lives in St Petersburg with her twin son and daughter, and husband who is a first grade teacher. She has a Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Massachusetts and a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University. 

Heather Vidal has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Tampa, with endorsements in Reading, ESOL and ESE. She has completed extensive training in the Orton-Gillingham approach. Heather co-authored the book "Teach Reading with Orton-Gillingham" and the companion book "Teach Reading with Orton-Gillingham: Early Reading Skills." She has also written several curriculum guides designed for students with dyslexia and other learning differences. She has been working in The Learning Center at Shorecrest since 2014, and transitioned in 2020 to be the Literacy Specialist for the Lower School and Middle School. Prior to working at Shorecrest, Mrs. Vidal taught 3rd and 5th grade in Florida public schools. Heather believes in teaching all students to unlock their potential by identifying and harnessing their strengths.

When she is not teaching, Heather enjoys hiking, cooking and gardening. Heather lives in Gulfport with her husband and two young daughters. 

We will provide continuing education certificates at the end of the workshop that will certify the work you undertook in each session.
