Technology is a driving force in the world today. It also introduces some remarkable opportunities at Shorecrest to expand what's possible for teaching and learning. To facilitate participation in Shorecrest 1:1 device programs, we are implementing a Family-Funded iPad and Mac Program, which offers families the option to access educational pricing to purchase their child's device.

Middle School: Middle School students in grades 5-8 are issued a school iPad. No additional purchase is needed.

9th Grade: Shorecrest is shifting to a school-issued laptop program in the Upper School. The first class to participate in this program will be the Class of 2026 during the 2022-2023 school year. No additional purchase is needed.

10th - 12th Grade:
Upper School students are required to bring either an iPad and/or a Mac laptop to school, provided by their family. Windows laptops will not be supported. The Technology Team recommends families purchase the following:
  • iPad
    • iPad Air (5th Gen) with 256GB and keyboard
    • iPad (9th Gen) with 256GB and keyboard, or
    • iPad Pro (3rd Gen and above) with 128GB or above and keyboard
  • Laptop
    • Macbook Air with 8GB Memory 256GB SSD or above
    • 13", 14" or 16" Macbook Pro with 8GB Memory 256GB SSD or above
    • NOTE: Macbooks are not recommended at this time.
To purchase your student's Apple product, visit our Family-Funded iPad and Mac Program online custom store at http://www.apple.com/edu/shorecrest. This secure, custom page ensures that you're buying the Apple device your student needs. It offers all the same features you find when shopping on the Apple website, including free delivery and in-store pickup. You can also visit your local Apple Store and mention the program to access educational pricing.

Remember to mention the Family-Funded iPad and Mac Program to access education pricing. Finance options may also available for purchases made at an Apple Store or online. And to find out if your existing Apple device qualifies to be traded in for a gift card toward a purchase in a store, visit www.apple.com/recycling.
