Keynote Speaker

Mary Greene '83, Shorecrest 2016 Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award Recipient

Mrs. Greene is the Deputy Director of the Environmental Integrity Project (EIP), a nonprofit, nonpartisan law firm and watchdog that advocates for the enforcement of laws to protect the air we breathe and the water we drink. Mary joined EIP after many years of teaching and practicing environmental law. She has previously worked for the Florida Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. EPA where she specialized in natural resource conservation and environmental enforcement. Mary holds both a law degree and B.S. B.A. from the University of Florida.

Mary is also an active advocate for the educational rights and psychosocial needs of children with disabilities, especially those living with the impact of prenatal alcohol exposure. She is the author of "When Rain Hurts," a memoir that explores what it’s like to live and love in the presence of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), a devastating but 100% preventable cause of developmental disability.
