Tennis falls to Community School of Naples in Regionals

by Coach Davis
The Chargers boys tennis team fell, 2-4,  to the Community School of Naples on Tuesday at the Regional Semi-Final match in Naples. The Chargers' wins came from boys Number 1 Matthew Danielson '20 and the Number 5 ranked player, Georgi R. '25. Going into the doubles the Chargers were behind the Seahawks 2-3, having lost at the number 2, 3 and 4 singles positions. The Seahawks only needed one more win to clinch the best of 7 point match. The win by the Seahawks at the number 2 doubles gave them the one point needed to clinch the match at 4-2.

Coach Tommy Del Zoppo and Coach Davis stated this was a great season for both the boys and girls tennis teams. "We advanced further than we have in recent years in post-season play. The team experience traveling to compete in Districts and Regionals is great for our student-athletes," Coach Davis shared. "The teams will build on these experiences as we continue to compete at a high level in post-season play. The results from this season validates the system we have in place and all of our successes. I am so proud of the kids and my coaching staff!"
