Force and Motion Project-Based Learning

by Jennifer Hobbs, Third Grade Teacher
Third graders in Mrs. Hobbs' class are learning about force and motion and how things move. The students had to use materials at home to create a chain reaction/Rube Goldberg machine.

This video shows one happy, successful student and her project!

This video shows a student using paper airplanes as an example of how things move. Dominique Hamm, Assistant Head of Lower School, gave the class a mini-lesson about the forces that help an airplane fly. He made a prediction, did trials, and hypothesized a conclusion.
