Being Creative, Building Connections
by Rachel Barrett, Director of Marketing and Communications
Like many of us, sixth grader Lottie B has had more time than usual to devote to hobbies while home in quarantine. Combining her love of art and her passion for helping others, Lottie launched HelpinghArt, a program that creates and sells original student art to support Feeding Tampa Bay.
Lottie shares, "I volunteered at a Feeding Tampa Bay mobile pantry with my dad and saw that there were so many people who needed food during this coronavirus crisis. This inspired me to fundraise so I could help. Since I enjoy painting I thought I could put my skills to good use."
HelpinghArt isn't just helping Feeding Tampa Bay, it's also helping Lottie become closer to her siblings. "My siblings and I are closer now because we are working together for a cause. I hope people will support us as we try to help our local community."
