Honoring Alumni with the Charger Challenge

by Stacy Alexander, Director of Alumni and Community Engagement
What makes Shorecrest special? Is it life-long friendships... a beloved teacher… or maybe just being a Charger? As Alumni, we've seen the many positive ways in which a Shorecrest education has affected our lives.

Beginning on Wednesday, February 9, 2021, and running through Thursday, February 11, 2021, the Shorecrest Alumni Association asked Chargers Alumni to consider joining The Charger Challenge.

The Charger Challenge honors our alumni and invites alumni and other community members to celebrate their Shorecrest experience with a gift to the Shorecrest Fund. The goal was to have 80 Chargers alumni make a gift reflective of their class year (i.e., members of the Class of 2017 give $20.17) or of any size.

Charger pride really shined during this year’s Challenge; and 100 Alumni, Alumni Parents and Friends joined the Challenge! Nearly every graduating year was represented - including the Class of 2021 and future alumni - with gifts given by alumni in honor of current students.

Thank you to the generations of Shorecrest Chargers who have shaped our school and inspire our current students! We are very proud and grateful!
