Winter Break Basketball Update

MS Green Boys Basketball vs. Indian Rocks: 19-44 Loss Although the score didn't reflect it, the team played with much energy and effort. They displayed some solid and strong offensive scoring while defending with intent and passion. The Chargers had a tremendous team defense, especially by our captains Asher W '26 and Brendan W '26. Brendan took our first charge of the season.
Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Indian Rocks: 66-53 Win The Chargers started out sluggish and were down 35-33 at the half. In the 3rd quarter, Shorecrest went on a 33 to 3 run to take control of the game for good. Mikhail Whyte '22 had 16 points, Michael Moten '24 had 15 points, and Reid Harris '23 had 13 points.
JV Boys Basketball vs. Indian Rocks: 63-20 Win Great plays from Enrique Negron '25, Mike Jiang '25, & Hayden Weaver '25.
Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Northeast High School: 54-38 Win The Chargers executed their game plan well on the night. David Zbrozhek '22 scored 22, Mike Moten '24 had 9, Nick Bearden '25 had 6 and Mikhail Whyte '22 scored 6.
Varsity Boys Basketball vs. St. Stephens: 43-40 Win The game was very physical and close for all 4 quarters. Shorecrest was down 5 points with 1:31 seconds left in the game. The team tied the game with 6 seconds left in the game. St Stephens turned the ball over attempting to inbound the ball. The Chargers inbounded the ball to Michael Moten '24 and he drained a 3 pointer with no time left on the clock to win the game. Michael had 21 points and Nickolas Bearden '25 had 9.
Varsity boys Basketball vs. Sarasota Military Acdemy: 67-26 Win The Chargers lead from start to finished with strong inside presence from Mikhail Whyte '22. The team play excellent defense for four quarters. Mikhail Whyte '22 scored 22 points, Nickolas Bearden '25 had 9 points and Michael Moten '24 had 9 points.
Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Braden River: 54-28 Win The team started out slow but poured it on in the second half. The Chargers scored 25 points in the 3rd quarter alone! The team had balanced scoring, all seven players scored.
Varsity Boys Basketball in Holiday Tournament vs. Manatee High School: 47-45 Win Shorecrest played a hard-fought game that went back and forth. The Chargers pulled off the victory, redeeming an earlier season loss and winning the Shorecrest Holiday Tournament. Nickolas Bearden '25 scored the go ahead basket with 5 seconds left in the game! Reid Harris '23 scored 14 points, Michael Moten '24 scored 14 points and Nickolas Bearden '25 added 10 points.
JV Boys Basketball vs. St. Stephens: 35-43 Loss Great plays from Ahmad Crumity '25 and Enrique Negron '25.
JV Boys Basketball vs. St. Petersburg Catholic: 31-49 Loss
Varsity Boys Basketball vs. St. Petersburg Catholic: 46-48 Loss After a hard-fought game went into overtime, the Chargers lost by 2 points.
JV Girls Basketball vs. Saint Petersburg Catholic: 10-34 Loss The defensive rebound was very good but missed layups and free throws, which put us in an unrecoverable hole.
