Contributing Chargers: Laryngakis Family

by Olivia Segalman, Associate Director of Advancement for Community Engagement and Events
Shorecrest’s mission is augmented by the generosity of our parents, grandparents, alumni and friends who support the school through their time, talent and philanthropic support. We call these community members Contributing Chargers. This week we are pleased to spotlight Nicholas and Catalina Laryngakis, parents of Luca ‘32. As a Lower School parent, Catalina has been a steadfast advocate for community engagement.

When asked why the Laryngakis Family are Contributing Chargers they shared:

“When it came to choosing a school for Luca, what impressed us the most about Shorecrest was the curriculum and experience-based learning emphasized by the compassionate teachers and staff. This teaching approach promotes a love for learning, as well as creative thinking which Luca has embraced and enjoyed at Shorecrest. This foundation of lifelong learning and creativity will foster our children to make a positive impact on our world.

Shorecrest provides students and their families a place to form long-lasting relationships. Luca is excited to go to school and learn, and also to experience the positive interactions the community spirit creates through various activities offered such as opportunities for volunteering, festivals and other fun events. The community of students, families, teachers and staff creates an extension of your own family. It takes a village to raise children and we feel the Shorecrest community is our village!”

The impact of Contributing Chargers like the Laryngakis Family, along with other members of our community, can be felt every day.

If you would like to nominate a special member of our community or share your Contributing Charger story, please email Olivia Segalman, Associate Director of Advancement for Community Engagement & Events.
