Shorecrest Art Teacher Exhibits at Morean Center for Clay

Work by Upper School 3D Arts Teacher Casey McDonough is currently featured at the Morean Center for Clay in "Universal Narratives," a group exhibition presented by artist Taylor Robenalt that brings together ceramic artists who tell stories in clay.

"Ceramics, with its tactile and transformative qualities, provides a unique avenue for artists to shape narratives in a tangible form," the Morean writes of the show, which gathers artists from a range of backgrounds to build compelling stories in the material.

Casey earned a Bachelor of Science in marine science and a Bachelor of Arts in studio art from Eckerd College and a Master of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has held residencies at the Morean Center for Clay, the Red Lodge Clay Center and the Hjørring Kunstmuseum in Denmark, and apprenticed with the late Don Reitz. Casey and his wife, photographer Laura Dante, are Shorecrest parents who keep a studio practice as well as a design collaborative.

The Universal Narratives exhibit is on view July 11-September 5, 2026, at the Morean Center for Clay - 420 22nd St. South, St. Pete.
