Upper School Students Earn 93% Pass Rate on 2026 AP Exams

Shorecrest Upper School students are back on campus, and they returned to an academic program with fresh evidence behind it. Last spring Shorecrest administered Advanced Placement tests in 31 subjects, with 93% of students scoring a 3, 4, or 5. 

AP exams are scored on a five-point scale, and most colleges grant credit or advanced standing at a 3 or higher. The average score for a Shorecrest student was 4.1. 

Sixteen courses earned a 100% pass rate, including: AP Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1, Physics 2, Physics C, Calculus AB, Calculus BC and Precalculus; AP African American Studies, English Literature and Composition, European History and Human Geography; and AP Italian, Spanish and Drawing.

"A 93% pass rate tells you our students are prepared, and that our teachers know how to bring out their best,” shared Upper School Head Brendan Hoyle. “As proud as we are of these results, we know these numbers are one measure among many. We educate our students with a focus on curiosity and persistence, which they carry into everything that comes next.”
