Community Sponsor Spotlight: Century Dental
In August, Lauren and Dr. Abdullah Allawnha, owners of Century Dental, sent two boys off to Shorecrest instead of just one. First grader, Zane ‘38, was accompanied by younger brother, Alex '41, who is in Alpha. “Alex was very excited about going to Shorecrest,” says Abdullah. “And Zane is very happy that they are able to see each other around the School and on the playground.”
The Allawnhas learned from friends about Shorecrest’s reputation for offering strong academics and creating well-rounded students. After visiting a number of schools, they were particularly impressed by The Experiential School, where Zane had started his Shorecrest journey. “He has lots of friends, and loves playing with them on the playground. In the classroom, he really likes learning math through Number Corner.”
Abdullah explains that the decision to sponsor photo booths at last year’s SCA Soiree and the 2026 Shorecrest Gala was a fun and logical tie-in to their dental practice, given the fact that “people’s smiles are highlighted when you take their pictures!” As for the events themselves, he praised the good music and the strong feeling of community.
Although being a community sponsor does bring attention to the business, the Allawnhas’ primary motivation is a desire to support the School. “We really appreciate Shorecrest and what it offers, and we’re very encouraged about what it’s given Zane. We want to see it continue to grow, which will help our children in the future. It’s a very welcoming community, and we’ve met people with similar interests and values who will be forever friends. Shorecrest is a good fit for us as parents, and for the kids.”
