Coed, independent, PK-12th grade school in St. Petersburg, Florida.

From the Headmaster

Children, parents, teachers and alumni like to know that they can rely on their school to be dependable and consistent. Members of our school community know they can rely on us to create an environment that is:
  • Safe but not a fortress
  • Grounded in fundamentals but vibrant and experiential
  • College preparatory but Life Long minded
  • Nurturing but challenging
  • Individually focused but dedicated to community development
  • Character centered but non-sectarian
At Shorecrest we strive to provide choice, support, and balance in all that we do.

From the moment a parent, guardian or grandparent calls to inquire about the school, to when a students walks across the stage with a Shorecrest diploma, our faculty and staff reaches out to support the educational needs and ambitions of our students and their families.

At Shorecrest, we balance a progressive, liberal arts curriculum which focuses on math, science and technology as well as English, history, art, physical education and character development, with a pragmatic approach that ensures students have developed skills and knowledge which will increase opportunities for them as they explore their interests, university choices, and careers.

We take great pride in the accomplishments of the students and graduates of our school. Their contributions to our immediate community while they are at Shorecrest and their even more significant contributions to communities in our region, around the county and the world reflect the values our teachers, coachers and directors work to instill. We take joy in knowing that we are in a partnership with our student’s families. Together, we know we can transform the lives of our students.

This is a great time to be a student at Shorecrest. More than ever before our students have opportunities to discover and develop their abilities, their passions and their dreams. I invite you to visit our campus and observe why we believe our students can Be More from being a part of the Shorecrest Preparatory School educational experience.

Cheers!
Mike Murphy, Headmaster
