Reading and Writing Workshop in Independent Schools – Advanced Course

(Prerequisite: Reading or Writing Workshop training)


Dates: July 29 - 30, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Workshop leaders along with guest experts will extend teachers’ knowledge of the reading and writing workshop approach to teaching literacy in an independent school classroom. During this two day intensive, participants will delve further into the work of assessment, accountability and engagement. Content from this workshop will focus on 2nd - 5th grade classrooms.
Earn 12 hours toward recertification!

Minimum Participants: 8; Maximum Participants: 25

Cost $150 (includes books to use for instruction, binders with session content, coffee, light breakfast and snacks.)

Your Instructor

Sarah Finnemore Palazzolo is a teacher and literacy consultant with expertise in reading and writing workshops and literacy curriculum development. She has taught third through fifth grades. Her experience as an independent school teacher, her training in reading and writing workshop from Columbia University, and Sarah’s position as lead staff developer and literacy coach with Pinellas County Schools allows her to offer specialized and practical professional development in literacy.
