The Experiential School Curriculum
Involving children in experiences that relate to their lives makes learning fun and exciting. Our curriculum is designed to help students find enjoyment and satisfaction in their pursuit of knowledge through active, hands-on learning with a balance of play and discovery, and self-initiated and teacher-initiated activities.
Social and Personal Development
Our students learn to be empathetic and productive members of a community. Respect and responsibility are emphasized to help our students learn cooperation, collaboration and conflict resolution. Self-esteem, self-control and independence are promoted in every aspect of the children’s daily experiences.
Literacy and language, math, science, regular Spanish instruction and global cultures are experienced through hands-on, project-based learning. Creative expression through music, movement and visual arts are integrated into daily classroom experiences. Students learn that technology (iPads, computers, digital documentation, etc.) can be used in and out of the classroom as a pathway to learning collaboratively and individually.
Growing Strong Bodies
Our preschool playground was designed to promote gross motor development during play. Our students’ fine motor skills are developed through play with manipulatives, and through a developmentally appropriate introduction to handwriting. Participation in physical education develops body awareness, agility, balance and coordination as well as sportsmanship.
