Saturday, September 27, 2014
9am - Noon
Celebrate National Estuaries Day the Tampa Bay way with a coastal cleanup!
Celebrate National Estuaries Day with Tampa Bay Watch by volunteering for a land- and sea-based cleanup of our local coastlines. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own kayak or canoe to participate in the water-based cleanup at one of four locations:
Ft. De Soto
National Estuaries Day is the annual celebration of the vibrant and diverse coastal areas where rivers meet the sea. Held on the last Saturday of September each year, National Estuaries Day is a terrific opportunity to learn more about estuaries and the perfect excuse to spend a day on your local bay.
*Additionally, at the Sunshine Skyway location, we will have a smaller team of 25 volunteers specifically working on the fishing piers to collect monofilament debris from our monotubes. The monofilament that is collected will then be recycled. To learn more about our monofilament recycling programs visit our website.
