Study Abroad Opportunity offered by International Studies Abroad

by Teresa Andrés, Upper School Spanish Teacher
Shorecrest alumnus Jorge Giroud '97 is Director of High School Programs for ISA (International Studies Abroad). He visited this week, when National and International Service Week opportunities were presented to Upper School students.

Mr. Giroud spoke to all of the students in our Upper School Spanish classes and directed his presentations toward the service learning opportunity in Costa Rica during our Service Week in March 2018, as well as several study abroad opportunities during the summer months around the world with a focus on Peru (Cuzco) and Spain (Madrid, Salamanca, Sevilla, Valencia).

These opportunities not only enhance the students’ proficiency in Spanish, but also expand a student’s view of our world and its different cultures. In respect to the college application process, these experiences augment a student’s college admissions posture, as only all small segment of high school students travel abroad for community service and/or study abroad. Please contact Jorge Giroud directly at ISA: jorgeg@worldstrides.com for more details about these opportunities.
