  • Community Service on the WATER (grades 3-5)

    Instructor: Khana Rebman
    Grades: 3rd - 5th
    When: June 11 to 15, 9am - 12pm
    Fee: $210

    Pulling invasive weeds from our neighborhood lake improves the health of an entire ecosystem. Let’s get out there!
  • LeadServe Service Experience (grades 9-12)

    Instructor: Diego Duran-Medina
    Grades:  9th - 12th
    When:  June 11 to 15, 9am - 4pm
    Fee:  $350
    Students will be working as educators with the Boys and Girls Camp in St. Petersburg for their Summer Camp. Participants will craft a series of engaging activities for campers to learn and have fun. Shorecrest students will earn between 20-25 hours of service, fulfilling their yearly requirement for service hours.
  • Service Learning (grades 5-8)

    Instructor: Curtis Cruise
    Grades: 5th - 8th
    When: June 11 to 15, 9am - 4pm. Also offered July 16-20, 9am - 4pm.
    Fee: $290

    Students will spend the mornings participating in a different service project each day in order to learn how they can be a positive impact on their community. Projects may include a tour and volunteer work at the Salvation Army, sorting food for the needy at the St. Pete Free Clinic, playing Bingo and other games with the elderly at the Neighborly Care Network, or an environmental project with Tampa Bay Watch. This camp exposes the kids to a variety of activities that they may pursue when service hours are required in the Upper School. Friday is a relaxing beach day to celebrate all of their hard work!
  • Tutoring & Mentoring at PAL

    PAL (Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg) is very excited to have the opportunity to have Shorecrest students serve as tutors and mentors to our students! We serve children from Kindergarten - 5th Grade at the PAL Woodlawn facility located at 1450 16th St North, St Petersburg, Fl  33704.

    Opportunities include:
    Summer Academics and Math Circles, 10-10:45am  Monday - Friday
    Reading Circles, 11:15 AM-12 PM  Monday - Friday

  • Shorecrest Summer Camp Volunteer Counselors

    Volunteering with Summer Camps at Shorecrest is a great way to get a jump start on your upcoming school year by earning up to 10 service hours. We have camps running from June 6th - July 29th, half day and full day programs. You'll be assisting faculty and staff members, working with younger children, spending lots of time outdoors and providing a valuable service to your school community.

  • On-Campus Native Classroom Ecology Interns

    Need Volunteer Hours Over the Summer? What to help cut down some Australian Pines and keep our Native Classroom looking good? Help is needed for a few hours at the beginning of the summer and at the end of the summer to control the invasive species we have on campus.  Volunteers will cut and bag Australian Pines as well as any other invader found in the Native Classroom.
    In early August, volunteers are need to help Tampa Bay Watch representatives and Kathryn Jeakle to move the bay grass plot just a bit and get it ready for next year's eighth graders.

  • Junior Ambassador of Goodwill

    As a Junior Ambassador of Goodwill, students will learn about and lend a helping hand in the following areas:
    • Goodwill’s Retail Store, outlet and warehouse operations
    • Goodwill’s Life Skills Development program for adults with disabilities
    • Goodwill’s BookWorks childhood literacy program
    The week-long summer program runs from 8am-1pm, Mon-Fri, beginning at our Goodwill-Suncoast headquarters in St. Petersburg. For students ages 14+.

  • Westminster Palms

    Come help in a retirement community, offering flexible hours, 2-6 hour shifts, and summertime or year-round positions. You may be visiting with residents, assisting staff with various scheduled activities (parties, outings, music programs), walking with residents, playing games or sharing your talents.

  • Foundation for Sustainable Families Intern

    At the Foundation for Sustainable Families, we strive to educate, support, strengthen and sustain families, children, and communities. Incorporating expertise from professionals in child welfare, education, social work, environmental sciences, counseling, parenting, medicine, and the arts; we create access to tools that will help both individual families and groups become stable, self-sufficient, and sustainable. 

    Opportunities range from working with rescue animals as part of an animal-assisted therapy program, growing and harvesting food for needy families, maintaining a donation supplies/donation boutique, and/or learning about vulnerable local populations and direct social work practices. This organization was founded by International Bestselling Author, award-winning social worker (and proud Shorecrest Parent) Ashley Rhodes-Courter, MSW.   • Great Explorations Summer Camp

    We are in need of volunteers for the summer as summer camp counselors. It is an easy and fun way to get service hours completed! Reach out to for more information. 
    • Camps are for ages 3-10 (different groups)
    • They go to Sunken Gardens everyday
    • There are also Crescent Lake Park field trips
  • Kind Mouse Volunteer

    Intern with a great local organization helping families and children in Pinellas County. Kind Mouse's mission is "to assist families in transition and their chronically hungry children". Opportunities are available to help as a Mouse Intern: pack food, sort donations, work with promotional videos and shop for food. Volunteer forms can be found online here

  • Ranger Naturalist Program at Weedon Island

    Are you a high school student looking for something fun and rewarding to do this summer? We are currently accepting applications for the Ranger Naturalist Program at Weedon Island for students ages 15-18. Students will gain leadership experience, build friendship, increase environmental literacy, and earn volunteer hours that can be applied to Bright Futures Scholarships. Please help spread the word!
