Meet the 2023 Salutatorian: Sean Sheikoleslam '23

Sean Sheikoleslam '23 was first introduced to Shorecrest via the “awesome” summer camp program in second grade. He started at the School the next year as a third grader and will graduate as the Salutatorian for the Class of 2023 on Saturday, May 20. Sean is described by his teachers as, "superlatively bright, industrious, and intellectually curious, and an earnest, responsible community member and citizen." Over his nine years at Shorecrest, Sean has been a top scholar, dedicated athlete, and contributing member of the School community for the Class of 2023.

Class of 2023 Outstanding Senior: Rose Leary

Rose Leary '23 was awarded the designation of Class of 2023 Outstanding Senior. Every year, ever since the first graduating class in 1976, the Shorecrest faculty selects and votes for one senior who demonstrates the best qualities and characteristics of a Shorecrest student, including leadership, scholarship, mentorship, and service while being well-respected by the Upper School student body. This year we honor the tremendous impact Rose Leary has made on the Shorecrest community. She is invited to return to campus in 10 years to speak at the Commencement of the class of 2033.

As Student Council President, Rose was a gifted leader who made strong decisions, often under pressure, while exuding compassion and kindness. This is why the whole community, from the Head of School to the student body, feels confident in her ability to both act and react within the framework of the Shorecrest Core Values on a daily basis.

Faculty used the following words to describe Rose: warm-hearted, curious, engaged, passionate, adaptable, upbeat

Students, from grades nine through twelve, use the following words to describe her: outgoing, mature, responsible, focused, ambitious, unparalleled

Rose has treated all those she has interacted with at Shorecrest as close family members. She has been a loyal scholar, leader, athlete, peer, and friend who sincerely wants the best for each individual. Rose has formed bonds out of love, kindness, and joy, and she has made our community feel like we are all a part of something very wonderful.
