Shorecrest Preparatory School seeks students who will benefit most from attending Shorecrest and who will contribute to the well-being of the school community.
The School adheres to the Principles of Good Practice as outlined by the National Association of Independent Schools.
Admission is based on selective criteria that may include standardized testing, classroom observation, prior school record, teachers’ recommendations and good character. In making a decision, the Admissions Committee may give special consideration to faculty and/or staff children. While we welcome all inquiries and applications, we regret we are not able to accept every qualified applicant based on our capacity.
Students who are wait listed at Shorecrest and then are admitted after the start of extra-curricular or athletic programs according to Florida State Statutes and FHSAA Bylaw 9.3.2.3 place the authority of transfers on the receiving school. This determination must be made by Shorecrest Prep, referencing any policy and administrative procedure the school may have in place regarding students coming off of a waiting list.
Shorecrest acknowledges its obligation to prohibit discrimination, harassment, or retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, age, national origin sex, citizenship status, genetic information, handicap or disability in admissions, access, employment, tuition assistance, educational policies, or other school-administered student and employee programs and activities. Questions regarding the School’s compliance with the application and administration of the School’s nondiscrimination policies should be directed to Kristine Grant, Head of Middle School, 5101 First Street Northeast, St. Petersburg, Florida 33703, (727)-522-2111, kgrant@shorecrest.org or to the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) or to the SBA.
