Three cheers for Isabel G ‘25 and Sarah K ‘25 who have done an amazing job collecting donations for the Ronald McDonald House. Two summers ago they started collecting donations for the Ronald McDonald House (RMH), a favorite charity of theirs. RMH has a program collecting soda can pop tabs and turning them into cash supporting families who stay at their House. Isabel and Sarah set up a collection campaign and spent the past two summers walking door-to-door, patiently explaining their collection bags and asking neighbors to participate in their drive. Dr. Bianco even let them present their campaign to Lower School students and they set up donation bags in the classrooms.
Through their persistent efforts and everyone’s contributions the girls were able to collect a grand total of over $101 in cash and more than 7 pounds of tabs, which the Ronald McDonald website estimates to be almost 9,000 pop tabs!
Isabel and Sarah received the following thank you notes from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay:
“Thank you so much for your gift of $101.59 and pop can tabs. Your donation helps us to provide warm welcome into our Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay (RMH) so that families with sick children can stay together and be near the medical care they need.
At Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay, families receive more than a place to stay and warm meals. The staff, volunteers, and families all support one another as they understand what families are going through, providing strength to tackle whatever may come their way. Donors like you make it possible for families to be together at RMH - THANK YOU!” - From Lisa Suprenand, Executive Director
