Ms. Horne's sister, Kelsey, is a a flight attendant for Endeavor Air (a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines). Every year she visits Ms. Horne's second grade students and changes her classroom into a mock airplane so they can "go on a trip.” Ms. Horne's class recently started their country study so the timing for the visit was valuable. Kelsey talked about places to which she has flown, and she helped students find those places on their maps. She talked about the different types of people and cultures she encountered on her trips. She shared about traditional food eaten in Iceland, languages heard in Italy, and even about experiencing the Dia de los Muertos celebration and other customs in Spain.
After our "trip" students earned their Delta wings for being such great passengers.
