SCA Holiday Gift Drive

For more than 25 years, the Holiday Gift Drive has been Shorecrest’s signature service event supported by SCA with participation from families at every grade level as well as alumni families and grandparents. Through the Gift Drive, the Shorecrest community will provide holiday gifts to 270 underserved children through the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay, which provides advocacy and support for abused, abandoned or neglected children in the Guardian ad Litem Program of Pinellas and Pasco Counties.
The Gift Drive starts on November 27, when children begin bringing unwrapped gifts into their classrooms. It culminates on December 8, when students will bring the hundreds of presents they have collected to the Athletic Center. There volunteers will organize the gifts that will make so many children’s holidays just a little brighter. On Saturday, December 9, the Guardian ad Litem volunteer child advocates will come to campus for a drive-through pick up of the gifts.
How current families can help:
- Purchase Gifts – Watch for an email from a class/grade level representative with details on how to sign up for, label and send in your gifts (scroll down for gift sign up links by grade level). Send in gifts with your student(s) November 27 - December 8. All gifts should be unwrapped with a label attached with the receiving child’s name and Child ID# (and a description of the contents if not obvious from the packaging).
- Donate Cash – We realize how busy many of you are and it is hard to find time to shop. Cash donations are essential to the success of the Gift Drive – we use this money to ensure that no child is left without the gifts that they want and need.

- Last-minute shopping
- Sorting and organizing gifts (Friday, December 8)
- Gift drive-through pick up (Saturday, December 9)
How others can Take Part:
For the third year alumni families and grandparents are invited to participate in the Gift Drive to provide holiday gifts for an additional 20 children.
