About CITL Home Professional Development About CITL

professional development for educators

As a preschool through 12th grade private, non-sectarian, college preparatory day school, Shorecrest serves a broad range of students, from the inquisitive and wiggly 3-year-old to the college-bound senior. Classes are led by experienced educators with expertise in their respective fields, be it early childhood education or adolescent brain development. The curriculum spirals upward, each year building on the previous year's experience.

The Shorecrest campus spans 28-acres in the heart of St. Petersburg, Florida, a mid-sized city that is part of the Tampa Bay metropolitan area. Learn more about our beautiful slice of sunshine here.

Getting Here

For air travel, we recommend flying into the Tampa International Airport (TPA). Shorecrest is located 20 minutes away. Additionally, the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) is located nearby if you’re flying a regional airline. We will not be able to reimburse travel costs incurred for the program. Attendees are responsible for airfare and hotel accommodations.

The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning strives to provide not only a meaningful learning experience but one that makes as little impact on the environment as possible. Here are our sustainable initiatives:

  • We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle as we will not be providing plastic water bottles. Pre-washed CITL water bottles are available at registration.
  • Coffee and tea will be served during breaks and you are invited to bring your own mug. We will provide re-usable cups as well.
  • All food and drinks will be served using reusable plates, cups, silverware, etc.
  • All workshop materials will be provided in a digital format using the Sched app so no paper copies will be distributed.
  • Name tags on lanyards will be distributed at registration and, while you are welcome to continue to use yours, we will also collect them to reuse for the next institute.
