After School

Extended Day for The Experiential School & Lower School

Extended Day is designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment for children who require supervision beyond school hours on a regular basis. Activities will include outdoor play, time for homework, games and crafts.

Student Pickup:
Anyone picking up an Experiential School student should park and walk in to the ES Building in Charger Commons. They will sign the student out with one of the Extended Day staff. If the pickup person is unknown to the staff member, they will need to show ID and be on the student’s pick up list.

Anyone picking up a Lower School student should park and walk to the LS Dining Room in Charger Commons. They will sign the student out with one of the Extended Day staff. If the pickup person is unknown to the staff member, they will need to show ID and be on the student’s pick up list.

School Closure Child Care

Child care is often available for Alpha – fourth graders when school is closed: half days and full days with no school. These days are included in the Extended Day Annual Plan but not included in other plans. Space is limited -  register online in advance to reserve a spot. Choose the “22-23 School Closed Day Programs” on CampBrain. Refunds are made up to one week in advance. Students need to bring a nut-free lunch and snack from home on these days.

Middle School After Hours

New this year! The Middle School After Hours program will be available for students in grades 5-8 from the end of dismissal until 5:30pm. Supervised activities for Middle School students include study hall, a student lounge, outdoor play and enrichment programs.

Families can register for Homework Support until 4:30pm, or Homework Support + Enrichment until 5:30pm. Both include access to the student lounge (with snacks, games, etc.) and outdoor play supervised by Auxiliary Program staff.
  • Homework Support will be supervised by eighth grade science teacher Mrs. Jeakle and run until 4:30pm.
  • Enrichment programs will be available 4:30-5:30pm. All children enrolled in Homework Support + Enrichment will have access to all programming, to be published before the start of school. Options may include chess, gaming, coding, yoga, dance, martial arts, wellness, STEM programming, academic enrichment, and more! Stay tuned for further information.
For the safety and well-being of our Middle School students, all fifth-eighth grade students who remain after school must be enrolled in Middle School After Hours unless one of the following applies:
  • The student is waiting for an older sibling to pick them up by 3:45pm.
  • The student is participating in after school clubs, intramurals, or athletics that begin immediately after school.

After School Clubs

Clubs are offered for students in Alpha through Eighth Grade with a variety of themes per session to keep students active and engaged after the school day is over. Clubs fill up quickly, so don't delay! There will be six-week sessions offered throughout the year.

Register for After School clubs at shorecrest.campbrainregistration.com.

Session 3: January 9 - February 16, makeup week February 20-24 (2/27 for Monday)
