On Tuesday night, the girls varsity soccer team beat Seffner Christian 8-0 to advance to the Regional Semi-Finals. It is the sixth consecutive appearance in the Regional Semi-Final game and eleventh overall in the history of the program.
Tuesday's game set a school record for goals scored in a Regional match. The goals came early and often in the first half as Lindsey Leonhirth started off the scoring just less than three minutes into the game. Gabby Marshall doubled the lead shortly after. Lauren Epstein and Christina Steffens rounded out the first half scoring to give the Chargers a 4-0 halftime lead. Anna Mesimer provided the fifth goal less than a minute into the second half, and Christina scored her second goal to stretch the lead to 6-0. Alli Epstein and Sam Epstein each scored to cap off the offensive explosion.
The girls play Indian Rocks Christian on Friday night (2/9) at 7pm on Haskell Field. Come on out to support them as they battle for a third consecutive Regional Final appearance! (More details here.)
