

Chargers Spring Playoffs Update
Softball is Moving On
The Varsity Girls Softball Chargers beat Northside Christian 13-6 in the Regional Quarterfinal match. They now advance to Regional Semifinals. During the game Paige C. '29 led the team with six runs on four hits.
The Regional Semifinal will be Tuesday, May 13 at home on Reilly Field at 4:30pm. Admission is $9.
Tennis at State
The Varsity Girls Tennis Chargers defeated Clearwater Central Catholic in the Regionals finals last week, 4-1. They then went on to compete at States, finishing 0-4. Despite the loss, the competition was made up of great volleys and impressive gameplay by the Chargers, according to Coach Erica Hajri.
Track & Field Heading to State
The Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Boys and Girls Track & Field teams (both!) won at the District Championship! This is the first time both teams have brought home District Titles in the same year. The Girls finished with a score of 206 and the Boys with 188. View a list of Chargers who finished in the top 4 of their event(s) and who advanced to the Regional meet.
"Ahmad Crumity '25 (pictured) continued to build on his legacy in the triple jump by improving on his own school record on the second jump of competition," informed Coach Richie Cameron.
At Track and Field Regionals a number of athletes on the Varsity Boys and Girls teams qualified for the State Championship which takes place Saturday, May 10:
Girls Pole vault: Khali Cameron '28
Boys Pole vault: Aaron Wein '27 and Tristan Chang '27
Boys Long & Triple Jump: Ahmad Crumity '25
Boys 4x400 Relay: Damarion Feaster '26, Asher Walton '26, Jordan Black '28, Temani W. ‘29
How to watch the State Championship:
The Chargers will compete at the University of North Florida-Jacksonville on Saturday, May 10. Admission is $14 in advance; $17 day of.

Award Nomination
Shorecrest Chargers Athletics was nominated for the Fred E. Rozelle Sportsmanship Award, which is given out by the Florida High School Athletic Association. According to the website, the award is "presented to one school in each classification whose total sports program best exemplifies the qualities of sportsmanship as demonstrated by its coaches, players and spectators." The winner has yet to be announced.
