Interim Head of Middle School Announced

Lower School News

I am pleased to announce that Kris Grant has accepted the position as Interim Head of Middle School.

Kris, who currently serves as eighth Grade Dean and as a seventh and eighth grade Spanish teacher, is excited to continue the great work Jane Johnson and Jonathan Davis have initiated with the Middle School faculty and staff. Kris will begin her new duties on
July 1.

Kris Grant has a BA in Political Science and Human Resource Management from George Washington University and her Juris Doctorate from Stetson College of Law. Mrs. Grant practiced law for 18 years before coming to Shorecrest and beginning her career in education in 2012. She has actively pursued a variety of professional development experiences including the Aspiring Leaders and Heads program at Harvard and the National Discipline Conference.

Kris is the parent of three Shorecrest alumni - Jamie '04, Alex '14, and Sam '15 - and during the past year has been working with our new Head of Upper School, Don Paige, to ensure the smooth transition of our Middle School students into the Upper School.

Kris will continue to support the faculty as they advance their work with interdisciplinary and project based learning experiences. She will also be working with the Administrative Team to support the strategic initiatives that are underway.

I am thrilled we have such a trusted and respected member of our own community to lead our Middle School.
