The Shore to Shorecrest 5k was first launched during our centennial year to honor the school’s journey - from its original location on North Shore Drive to its current campus on 1st Street, exactly 3.1 miles apart.
What began as a one-time celebration of Shorecrest’s 100-year milestone has quickly grown into a cherished community tradition. This year Shorecrest was thrilled to host the 3rd annual Shore to Shorecrest 5k presented by Dermaclinique, Dr. Priya Nayyar M.D., welcoming a record-breaking 450+ registrants!
The morning kicked off with a stunning sunrise at Flora Wylie Park, complete with coffee service and upbeat music to set the tone. Walkers, runners and strollers made their way along the scenic waterfront route to the Shorecrest campus, where they were greeted by custom student-created art featuring messages of encouragement.
The celebration continued on campus with a vibrant Wellness Village sponsored by Griffin Concierge Medical, a waffle breakfast supported by the Shorecrest Dad’s Group, complimentary coffee, and opportunities to connect with local community partners. And for our youngest Chargers, age 8 and under, the excitement peaked with the Sparky Sprint, a joyful dash finishing in a Shorecrest water misting tunnel, capped off with a well-earned Sparky Sprint medal.
