Forensic speech is the study and practice of public speaking and debate, according to the American Forensic Association. School and college contests are patterned after ancient Greek competitions at public forums. 27 Middle School students attended the most recent meet, last Wednesday. Here are the Shorecrest results:

5th graders: Fiona G- second place - Original Oratory - "ADHD"

Sarah K - 5th place - Original Oratory - "Lie Detector"
Max B - 4th place - Impromptu

7th graders: Phoenix B and Grace W - 2nd place - Duo Drama

Sofia A - 4th place - Prose

Sofiya I- 5th place - Declamation

8th graders: Stella P and Ellie L - 1st place - Duo drama

The last meet of the 2017/2018 season will be on March 7th.
