Shorecrest Performing Arts Broadway Star of the Future Nominees 2025-26
In November 2025, Shorecrest Performing Arts presented "Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play" starring Shorecrest Upper School students. In April 2026 they performed the musical “Oklahoma!” starring students in grades 8-12. These productions were reviewed as part of the Broadway Star of the Future program presented by the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts.
Broadway Star of the Future winners and scholarship recipients will be announced during the Broadway Star Of The Future Awards Showcase on May 17 at the Straz Center. The event features performances from invited 2025-2026 Outstanding Musicals and Best Performer Finalists.
Under direction of the US Theatre and Thespian Director, Michael McCarthy, the following Chargers have been nominated for Broadway Star of the Future Awards:
- Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play - Outstanding Play
- Tyler Biggar in Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play - Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role in a Play
- Summer Farkas In Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play - Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role in a Play
- Ada Mollo In Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play - Outstanding Stage Manager
- Maddison Cirino, Bianca Felipe, Brailee Mantooth, Josephine Taylor, & Mallory Taylor in Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play - Special Achievement in a Play, Artistic Excellence
- Stagecraft Class in Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play - Outstanding Scenic Design (student led) - and - Outstanding Prop Design (student led)
- Oklahoma! - Outstanding Musical
- Zoe Eichenbaum, Josephine Taylor and Mallory Taylor in Oklahoma! - Best Featured Dancer in a Musical. These 3 students were invited to perform at the awards show.

Broadway Star of the Future Awards are Regional awards affiliated with the National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) or the Jimmy™ Awards. At the showcase in Tampa, educational scholarships will be presented and two musical theatre performers will be invited to attend the Jimmy Awards / National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York City, expenses paid. Participants experience a week of private coaching, master classes, and rehearsals with theatre professionals and they receive opportunities for merit scholarships, professional advancement, and other prizes. Jimmy™ Awards are then awarded to two grand prize winners.
