This past summer, a group of nine Shorecrest seventh and eighth graders traveled to Costa Rica. The trip was part eco-adventure and part community service. Led by 7th grade Life Science teacher, Mr. Collins, the group explored cloud forests, rafted the Sarapiqui River, zip-lined through the canopy next to Arenal Volcano, and snorkeled the Gulf of Nicoya. They also helped out at a local orphanage in La Fortuna and worked with school children in the outskirts of capital San Jose.
