If you've walked into the world of first grade lately, you may have noticed the "fishy" smell. That smell is evidence of the many amazing learning opportunities in first grade at Shorecrest!
During an in-depth ocean study in first grade, students have been learning all about oceans, the life that lives there, and how to take care of it all. They are most fortunate to have Lisa Peck, Upper School science teacher, dissect squid, sea urchins, and now SHARKS with the young marine biologists. The class was amazed to find 5 little shark pups inside the dogfish shark they dissected. Only at Shorecrest can a first grader have these incredible experiences!
(Shark dissection photos are not for the squeamish.)
