Student artist and rising ninth grader Lauren W was selected to to exhibit artwork in the 2017 Statewide Student Surrealist Art Exhibit: “Surreal Identity.” Lauren and other featured art students and teachers were honored at the exhibit’s reception and awards ceremony on June 24. The art is on display at The Dali now through August 27.
Initiated in 1985, this annual art exhibit presents work by middle and high school students who are invited to explore ideas and visions similar to those explored by Dali and the surrealists. Over the course of each year, The Dali Museum features three separate exhibits - Pinellas County, Hillsborough County, and Statewide.
Through this exhibit, The Dali Museum seeks to make a difference in the community by recognizing the role our art teachers play in their students’ development, and by encouraging students to continue exploring new ideas and creative thinking in all fields of education.
