MS ARCHAEOLOGISTS VISIT LOCAL PARK

Mr. Hodgson took his seventh grade budding archaeologists to Abercrombie Park to conduct a surface survey in their search for Native American pottery that the local Tocobaga Indians left behind centuries ago. They found small pottery shards, and one student found a rim piece.
The pottery was made anywhere from the Archaic to the Mississippian period, which lasted from 6,500 B.C.E - 1500 C.E. All the shards were returned to the places they were found.
