Crafting with Cardboard in MS 3D Art

Arts Middle School News

Shorecrest Middle School 3D Art students have been fully engaged in cardboard exploration over the past few weeks. They delved into the works of renowned cardboard artists such as Monami Ohno from Japan, Eva Jospin from Paris, and Australian artists Daniel Agdag and Greg Olijnyk.

The challenge set before the students was to collaborate with their peers in crafting a tablescape featuring a variety of menu items, spanning from brunch to dessert-themed charcuterie boards – all made from cardboard. These delectable creations are currently showcased in the Middle School Center for Arts and Sciences.

Now the students are working on landscape recreations, entirely crafted from upcycled cardboard. Emphasizing perspective, the students are honing their skills in building compositions with foreground, mid-ground, and background elements. Through this process, they've acquired numerous techniques for manipulating cardboard to suit their artistic vision. These captivating pieces will be unveiled in March.
