SHORECREST SWIM & DIVE WINS AT SENIOR NIGHT

Athletics

GIRLS: CHARGERS 172,  NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN 132
BOYS: CHARGERS 203.5,  NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN 102.5

Shorecrest Swim & Dive celebrated their Seniors in a big way this past Tuesday with double wins against Northside Christian. They started the evening with a lovely dinner provided by the senior parents and then had the traditional accolades provided by underclassman and Head Coach.  So many nice things were said about seniors Millie Abbey, Sylvia Smith, Pablo Coundouriotis and PJ Farley that it made for a touching and bittersweet start to this fun night.

The girls team garnered big points from the two relay wins beginning with the 200 Medley (Sarah L., Ainsley B., Taylor E. and Emery C.) and finishing with the 400 Free (Sarah L., Reagan Q., Emery C. and Taylor E.).

Winning individual events were: Taylor E. (50 Free and 100 Back), Sophie E. (Diving), Ainsley B. (500 Free) and Sarah L. (100 Breast).

The boys also dominated the 200 Medley Relay (Misha M., Pablo C., Caleb K. and Joseph B.) and the 400 Free with the same personnel.

Winning their individual events were Joseph B. (200 IM), Dominic H. (Diving), Carlos G. (100 Fly), Pablo C. (100 Free) and Caleb K. (100 Breast). As always it was a team effort with many time drops and great swims to score the points for the victory.

During the diving break, we again honored the seniors with a presentation of all four of them escorted by their parents. Flowers were presented to their mothers by Athletic Director Jeff Raab, and Coach Patty gave each an embroidered towel to remember their years on the team. The grand finale is always the “senior dive” off of the diving board with the team cheering them on.

The Chargers Swim & Dive team is back in action this Friday and Saturday for the City Championship Meet with diving being held on Friday at Northeast High and swimming on Saturday at North Shore Pool.
