After having a number of matches rained out at the beginning of the season, the Varsity Golf team has been busy playing matches and tournaments while preparing for Districts at Bayou Club on Monday, October 16. The girls, who compete only as individuals and not as a team, have especially had their season affected by the weather.
On September 28, both the girls and boys played a long, hot afternoon of 18-holes at the Green Devil Invitational at the Vinoy. Senior Adrianna Linn posted a very good score of 81, and 8th Grader Isabella D had an 81 in her first 18-hole match.

In the boys’ team competition, Plant High won the day with an amazing score of 289. The Shorecrest boys had a team score of 383, with the following individual scores: Bill B 82, Turner Bramlet 91, Drew B 96 and Andrew Cockman 114.
On October 3 Varsity Golf played and beat Canterbury 197-241 at Isla del Sol in cooler temperatures with intermittent rain. Adrianna Linn was again the Shorecrest low scorer of the day with a score of 41. The boys scores were: Bill B 42, Drew B 50, Andrew Cockman 52, Connor Cruise 53, and Jack Warburton 59.
On a very windy October 7, the boys competed against teams from across the state at the CCC Invitational on the beautiful and challenging Belleair Country Club East Course. The boys posted a team score of 388 with individual scores of Bill B 85, Turner Bramlet 95, Andrew Cockman 102, Drew B 106 and Jack Warburton 114. Considering the challenges of this course that day, this was good scoring for such a young team. Spruce Creek High School won the tournament with a score of 306.
