Berkeley 186 Chargers 123
BOYS:

Shorecrest Swim & Dive kicked off the fall season with a lightning delayed meet at Berkeley Prep. The team tried their best to win against a very strong opponent. Winning one event each were Dominic Hoefer '19 (Diving), Caleb Kravitz '20 (100 Fly), Reagan Quilty '19 (500 Free) and Sarah Miller '19. (100 Back). Many of the swimmers had best times and it was a nice test to the training that has been put in so far this season.

GIRLS:
Chargers 228 Out-Of-Door 53
BOYS:
Chargers 193 Out-Of-Door 110

The Chargers persevered through another lightning delay and emerged victorious against Out-of-Door Academy. The girls team won all three relays: 200 Medley (Emery Camp '20, Ainsley B '23, Taylor Emerson '19, Sarah Lankford '22); 200 Free (Mariyah S. '23, Ainsley B. '23, Claire E. '23, Reagan Q.) and the 400 Free (Sarah L., Reagan Q., Emery C. , Taylor E.) to add some big points to the overall score. Winning two events each were: Emery C. (200 Free, 100 Back), Sarah L. (200 IM, 500 Free), and Taylor E. (50 Free, 100 Free). Scoring points in one event were Alexis Montecalvo '22 (Diving) and Ainsley B. (100 Breast).

While the boys had tougher competition they were still able to win the meet on depth. Winning two events was Caleb K. (200 IM, 100 Fly) and winning one each were: Misha Muskepo '20 (50 Free), Dominic H. (Diving), Michael Longino '20 (100 Free) and Joseph Brockman '20 (500 Free). The boys took first place in both the 200 Medley Relay (Misha M., David Sartania '20, Caleb K., Joseph B.) and the 400 Free Relay (Joseph B., Michael L., Misha M. , Caleb K.) . Great job by both the girls and boys teams!

TOTAL TEAM WARES RELAY MEET
Chargers Swim & Dive dressed in their best Hawaiian-print shirts, donned their leis and decorated their tents with a luau theme to take home the 1A Spirit Award at this year’s Total Team Wares Relay Meet. They swam pretty well too, but all in all, this meet is just about having fun and showing school spirit. Both the girls and boys teams finished 8th overall out of 19 teams. Fabulous job by our captains getting everyone motivated and showing everyone our Charger Spirit!

GIRLS:
Chargers 83 Pinellas Park 25
Chargers 88 Dunedin 20

BOYS:
Chargers 73 Pinellas Park 14
Chargers 70 Dunedin 22

At some point the Shorecrest Swim & Dive team luck was going to run out. The meet against Pinellas Park and Dunedin was shortened due to lightning but the good news is that we won both meets. Against Pinellas Park the boys won every event and only lost one against Dunedin. First place finishes were in the 200 Medley Relay (Jeremy B. '23, David S., Evan H. and Will Hess '19), 200 Free (Caleb K.), 50 Free (Will H.) and 100 Free (Chase Andrews '20) . Winning two events was Joseph B. (200 IM and 100 Fly).

The girls team took first place in every event against both teams. Taylor E. (200 Free and 500 Free) won both of her events. Emery C. (200 IM), Sarah M. (50 Free), Reagan Q. (100 Fly) and Sarah L. (100 Free) were first in their event for the evening. The 200 Medley Relay (Sarah M., Ainsley B., Stella Pagano '22 and Mariyah S.) started the night with a win.

It was great to see so many Shorecrest students out to cheer on the team – THANK YOU!

Coming up: Chargers vs. St. Pete Catholic and Clearwater Catholic on Monday.
