

Middle School Scholastic Arts Awards

Four of the seventh grade stop-motion animation movies won Scholastic Arts awards and their student creators were invited to a ceremony on Feb. 7 at Gibbs High School. In addition, several students won awards for drawing and digital illustrations of surreal art with a focus on the marvelous, fantastic and grotesque. The students applied the elements of art and various techniques of Photoshop to their own photographs. Alexis A. did an illustration of the character Apollo.
Only a quarter of submissions are acknowledged in this prestigious awards competition.
