In addition to directing Les Misérables, which runs this weekend at Shorecrest, Bill Leavengood is also celebrating the opening of a play he wrote, THE AZURE SKY IN OZ, this weekend in Tampa.
"I just attended my first rehearsal of THE AZURE SKY IN OZ, and I was thrilled by what I saw! Carrie Drazek is fantastic and brought these two women so fully to life! Padraic Lillis is an outstanding Director. I am always concerned people will learn the subject matter of the show (two real Florida women whose lives revolve around the world of Special Education and Autism) and would rather go see "Nunsense" again. But trust me that these women, their stories, and the spirits and character of all of those who they nurture and teach is touching, funny and full of human compassion and flaws. Please come!" reports an excited Bill Leavengood.
The show opens Friday, April 21, 2017 and plays through April 30. Proceeds benefit The Philanthropic Women of St. Joseph's. Learn more: http://www.strazcenter.org/ Events/Straz/Shows/Rentals/ The-Azure-Sky-in-Oz
