Head of School Letter: A Warm Welcome to our Incoming, New Chargers
Each spring, Accepted Students Day welcomes students who have recently been offered admission to Shorecrest. After months of conversations, campus visits, and careful consideration, accepted students and their families return to campus to experience more fully the community their children will soon join.
This year’s admissions season has been both busy and encouraging, with strong interest from families across the Tampa Bay Area. The competitive level of interest speaks not only to the strength of Shorecrest’s academic program, but also to the character of the community our students, families, and faculty create together daily.
Accepted Students Day is designed to help prospective students see themselves on the Shorecrest campus. One of the most meaningful parts of the experience is the opportunity for visiting students to spend time in real classrooms alongside their future peers. By attending classes and interacting directly with our students and teachers, they begin to understand the rhythm of daily life at Shorecrest — the curiosity in our classrooms, the relationships between students and faculty, and the spirit of engagement that defines our campus.
While students were exploring classes, parents had the opportunity to meet with faculty members, deans, and school leaders to learn more about our academic programs, student support structures, and college counseling philosophy. These conversations are often where families gain a deeper understanding of the values that guide our work as educators.
What stands out most during events like this, however, is the role our current students and families play in welcoming newcomers. From student ambassadors sharing their experiences to informal conversations over lunch, visitors quickly see that Shorecrest is a community where people genuinely care for one another and take pride in the life of the School.
We are grateful to the many students, parents, and faculty who helped make our 2026 Accepted Students Day today so welcoming. They truly exemplified the Shorecrest Spark!
We look forward to welcoming our future Chargers back to campus in August.
All the best,
Nancy
