Shorecrest School

Community Donor Spotlight: Rachel Elias Wein and David Wein

Contributing Chargers Advancement

Rachel and David Wein have been generous supporters of Shorecrest ever since their sons - Aaron ‘27, Noah ‘32, and Eitan ‘33 - enrolled at Shorecrest. As early as 2020 David, an emergency medical physician, shared his time and expertise as a member of the Health & Safety Committee as the School worked to navigate COVID. Flash forward to the present and Rachel, a finance and retail real estate professional, is currently a member of the Board of Trustees. In addition to the time and talents they share with Shorecrest through volunteer roles, the Weins also participate in the Shorecrest Fund each year, which provides the above-and-beyond experiences that make Shorecrest exceptional.

"Our children spend more time at school than they do at home," said Rachel. "We appreciate the role that Shorecrest plays in their lives and how this school helps shape them as lifelong learners and curious minds."

For Rachel and David, contributing to the Shorecrest Fund means supporting teachers. "We want to support the excellent faculty and staff, enabling them to try new things with the students and help them grow and learn."

Middle School's Drop Everything and STEAM Week is a prime example of how supporting the Shorecrest Fund translates into impactful learning experiences. From astronaut training at the Kennedy Space Center, to Zoom calls with a NASA Jet Propulsion Engineer, to a campus visit from astronaut and aquanaut Nicole Stott, STEAM Week is a milestone Shorecrest experience that is enhanced through teacher creativity and through additional resources made possible by Shorecrest Fund.

Ultimately, what the Wein family loves most about Shorecrest is its welcoming environment. “We appreciate the genuine desire for students to grow through athletics and the arts and the individualized learning opportunities,” explained Rachel.

Through their continued support, Rachel and David help to maintain an exceptional educational experience and campus culture for their own children - and all Shorecrest students - present and future.
