Shorecrest School

Community Donor Spotlight: Elisa Caro and Jarrett Wolfe

Contributing Chargers Advancement

For Elisa Caro and Jarrett Wolfe, the move from the bustling streets of New York City to the sun-drenched shores of St. Petersburg wasn't just a change of scenery — it was a leap of faith that led them straight to the Shorecrest community.

In October 2021, the couple visited St. Pete for a weekend trip. By Sunday they were under contract on a home; and within days they were breaking the news to their family and NYC-based headquarters that their telecommunications company would be opening a third office in Florida.

“It was love at first sight,” the couple recalls. “We haven't looked back since.”

As business owners — Jarrett serves as Founder/CEO and Elisa as Chief Revenue Officer of SmartChoice Communications — the couple immediately recognized the value of the Shorecrest community. The family officially joined Shorecrest when their daughter, Isabella ’37, enrolled in first grade.

"We are passionate about education and the community here is St. Pete. Shorecrest offers the best of both worlds in its all-inclusive, warm, nurturing environment," Elisa shared. "As parents and business owners, we want to encourage fellow community members to join us in elevating the experience for every student."

The family’s support of the Shorecrest Fund is driven by a desire to see real-world skills integrated into the classroom. They are particularly passionate about the language program, after school tutoring and clubs, and lessons supported by RRI (Ross Roeder Institute for Financial Literacy, Economics and Entrepreneurship), noting that these tools will "equip our daughter and her classmates with the skills to thrive in both business and life."

Shorecrest’s diverse course offerings, including the language program, have provided a tailored educational path for their bilingual daughter, complemented by on-campus tutoring and speech therapy. The extended day and after-school clubs allow Isabella to explore her interests without leaving the security of campus.

Though they have only been part of the School for a few months, Elisa and Jarrett are already in awe of the dedication shown by the faculty. They describe the support Isabella has received as deeply personalized, fostering a newfound confidence and curiosity in her daily life.

"Isabella LOVES going to school," said Elisa. "The teachers' willingness to go above and beyond has shown us how deeply they care about each student’s success."

The family’s journey from a weekend visit to dedicated Shorecrest supporters serves as a testament to the power of a welcoming community. As they continue their first year at Shorecrest, they remain committed to ensuring that the same opportunities Isabella is experiencing are available to every student.
