The opening days of school have much in common with the launch of a space shuttle. Yes, there can be a little fear, but there are always tons of excitement, dreams of great adventures and discovery. I hope your children have had a successful launch into the school year these first three days. There is so much to look forward to for 2014-15 at Shorecrest!
This Sunday afternoon, August 24, our Booster Club will host our annual Spirit Night in the Athletic Center. Our spirited and dedicated volunteers have organized games and activities for our students and a wonderful dinner for the full community. We’ll recognize all of our athletic teams and kick-off the school year with this community-wide Shorecrest tradition. I hope you can join us.
The Board of Trustees and members of the administration are scheduled to spend Saturday in a retreat that will focus on the recalibration of our school’s strategic plan. A few weeks later the faculty and staff will take on the same task. This important work ensures that Shorecrest moves thoughtfully and successfully into the future.
We begin this year with every intention to make this a great year of growth and development for all of our students. We look forward to partnering with all parents and guardians as we begin an important year in the lives of our Shorecrest children.
