Cross-Divisional Collaboration

Middle School News

In what was hopefully the first of many meetings, third graders teamed up with Alpha and JK students for a Spanish class this week.

Alpha students were split into two groups and third graders acted as instructors, working with them on Spanish introductions and colors. Everyone learned to say, “My name is ____” in Spanish and they reviewed a variety of colors.

One group of third graders created a board game to help the younger Chargers learn. The other group threaded Froot Loops on pipe cleaners and recited the corresponding colors in Spanish at the same time. Everyone waved “adios” at the end of the fun class!

Third graders also enjoyed heading up to the Wood Family Pavillion to have lunch with the seventh graders this week. The two grades plan to pair up as the students rise so they will build relationships with students in another division of the school.
