

Parent Training Programs vs. Overparenting Behaviors [video]

On Thursday, January 25, the Shorecrest Community Association hosted Dr. Sherri Danyali, Director of The Experiential School of Tampa Bay, as its guest speaker. Sherri has more than 20 years of experience in early childhood education. She joined Shorecrest in 2017 from The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens where she served as the Director of Worlds of Wonder, the school's 3-year-old program. She has a Bachelor of Arts in World Religions from University of Georgia, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University and recently completed an Educational Doctorate in Education Leadership, Curriculum and Teaching from Nova Southeastern University.
Sherri's doctoral research focused on the effects of a parent training program on overparenting behaviors. She shared her inspiration for the topic, approach, and research findings with Shorecrest parents at the January 25th SCA meeting.
