Student Success at DECA International Competition
Shorecrest Upper School students Alanys Requena '25 and Sabrina Everhart '25 represented the School at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta in April 2025. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The Chargers competed in the Franchise Pitch event and their project focused on securing funding to open a Crumbl Cookies franchise in Hyde Park, Tampa.
Alanys and Sabrina demonstrated outstanding dedication - practicing before and after school, as well as during breaks - to prepare for this high-level competition. Their commitment was supported every step of the way by Ilaria Belloni, Associate Director of the Ross Roeder Institute, whose guidance was instrumental to the team’s success.
